These days there are so many pressures and time constraints when completing building work that you need to maximise every moment to keep a project on time and within budget. Liquid screed can help you to do this because it dries quickly and self-levels, meaning less time wasted on waiting for a floor to be ready.
Liquid Screed Uses
One of the best uses of liquid screed is when using underfloor heating. The screed is incredibly strong and yet it is not as thick; this means that the underfloor heating is more efficient and the heat can reach everywhere in the room quicker than ever before
Our team will always provide pump applied liquid screed and underfloor heating for projects of any size. Designing, installing and creating flooring screeds of the highest quality, your project will always be given a smooth finish.
Benefits of Liquid Screed
The floor itself can be walked on within 2 days of it being laid meaning that it is a truly cost-efficient method of flooring!
At a time where we all need to become more ecologically aware, liquid screed is a great eco-friendly product to use as it reduces your carbon footprint and saves you time and money.
Liquid screed can be used to fill incredibly large expanses and as it self-levels you won t need to pay out for a team to level the floor as you go! It is not just for large expanses; liquid screed can be used in the smallest areas as well, meaning that it could be the perfect solution to home improvements too
How Liquid Screed is Used
- Can be Walked on in 24-48 Hours & Can be Force Dried as Early as 7 Days After Application
- Cost Saving Benefits
- High Thermal Conductivity Which Creates Faster Heat Response
- Increased Productivity 2000m2/Day Can be Easily Achieved (For an Average 500-1000 M2/Day)
- Large Bay Sizes of up to 30-40 Linear Meters Depending on Application
- Liquid Screed Easily Achieves SR2 Finish as Described in BS8204
We will arrive at your project location and install the screed for you. The great thing about it is the short drying time that gives you the ability to get your project finished quickly.
Once installed, the screed will need to cure, meaning that you will need to keep the area in which the screed has been placed sealed for two days. It needs to be protected from sunlight, draughts and extreme temperatures.
After two days the liquid screed will be able to take some light foot traffic. It will not take heavy traffic as it won t be totally dry by this time.
Liquid Screed Installation & Aftercare
The rate of drying will differ for each project as it depends on the size of the job. You can expect the screed to dry at a rate of 1mm per day up to a thickness of 40mm if the conditions are optimal and 0.5mm per day for any thickness above this.
It is important to take into consideration the site conditions when estimating drying time for your specific project. If you are in any doubt, we are more than happy to talk you through the process and give an estimate on the drying times for your project.
- Reducing Drying Times
Liquid screed drying times can be reduced by leaving windows open and the placing of dehumidifiers. Please note that dehumidifiers can only be used 72 hours after the liquid screed has been installed.
- Force Drying Liquid Screed
Seven days after installation you can consider force drying to help speed your project up. This can be done by using an underfloor heating system to heat and cool the area and in doing so, drying the screed.
It is also possible to reduce the drying time by sanding the floor after 7-10 days. This removes the surface laitance and will improve the speed of drying but will require the dust to be swept or hoovered up.
No matter what you choose to do, we will always be on hand to share advice and resources with you. We also will give you a step-by-step guide on how to care for your floor.
